About Hugh Rogovy
Hugh Rogovy has always been a late bloomer.
A firm believer in the liberal arts, Hugh graduated with a philosophy degree from a major Midwest university. He spent the following year traveling, including seven months in Europe working odd jobs while studying turn-of-the-century paintings in the major museums of London, Paris, Florence, and Rome.
Following an entrepreneurial path, Hugh co-founded Satori Software during the pioneering days of personal computing. Inspired by Steve Jobs' vision of bringing "a liberal arts point of view to the use of computers," Hugh was passionate about incorporating artistic merit into his company's graphical user interfaces.
Over many years, Hugh assembled a significant art collection featuring works by masters including Picasso, Derain, Lhote, Kisling, Manguin, and Luce, among others. This collection became another vital avenue of artistic study and inspiration.
Drawing from Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and Modernism, Hugh began painting later in his career. He now divides his time between New York City and Mougins, France—a village long celebrated for its artistic community.
